Privacy policy
What data we collect, why, for how long, and how to take it back.
Last updated : 4 October 2026
Who is responsible
The publisher of Le China Book is the controller of the personal data collected on lechinabook.com.
For any question, or to exercise your rights: dropandyoucontact@gmail.com.
What we collect
Only what we need, and only when you give it to us or consent to it:
- You request the welcome code — your first name and your WhatsApp number, or your e-mail address.
- You place an order — your name, e-mail address, country and the order details. Your card details are collected and stored by Stripe; we never see them and receive only the last four digits and the authorisation result.
- You write to us — the content of your message and the means of replying to you.
- You accept measurement cookies — pages viewed, purchase buttons clicked and purchases made, attached to an advertising identifier. None of this is collected if you decline.
We never ask for identity documents, banking documents, or information about your health, your opinions or your origins.
Why, and on what basis
- Fulfilling your order and delivering access
- Necessary to perform the contract. Without this data, no delivery.
- Sending you the welcome code and marketing messages
- Your consent, given by filling in the form. Revocable at any time.
- Answering your questions
- Our legitimate interest in providing customer service.
- Measuring audience and our advertising
- Your consent, given in the cookie banner.
- Keeping our accounts and preventing fraud
- Our legal obligations and our legitimate interest.
Who has access
We do not sell or rent your data. It is entrusted to the providers that make the site work, each for their own part:
- Stripe Payments Europe, Limited (Ireland)
- Taking payments, fraud detection, receipts.
- Netlify, Inc. (United States)
- Site hosting and technical logs.
- Cloudflare, Inc. (United States)
- Domain name, delivery of pages and videos.
- Meta Platforms Ireland Limited
- Advertising measurement, only if you accepted cookies.
Transfers to the United States rely on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and, failing that, on the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.
For how long
- Orders, invoices, accounting records
- Ten years, legal obligation.
- Access to the pack
- As long as your access is active — it is for life.
- Contact details collected without an order
- Three years from our last exchange, then deleted.
- Customer service messages
- Three years after the request is closed.
- Measurement cookies
- Thirteen months at most.
Your rights
At any time you may ask to access your data, have it corrected or deleted, request a reusable copy of it, restrict its processing, object to its use for marketing purposes, and withdraw your consent.
A request to dropandyoucontact@gmail.com is enough. We reply within one month. If you ask for your data to be deleted while your order is in progress, we keep strictly what accounting obligations require, and nothing more.
If our answer does not satisfy you, you may lodge a complaint with the French data protection authority — cnil.fr — or with the data protection authority of your country of residence.
Automated decisions
We make no decision about you by automated processing. Stripe applies its own anti-fraud checks at payment; a refusal on its part can be disputed with us.
If this policy changes
The date of the last update appears at the top of this page. Any change that would alter how your data is used will be notified to you before it takes effect, and your consent will be asked again where required.
